A blend of each member’s background and influences, “Bout Damn Time” embodies the duo’s desire to carve out a unique place for themselves in the country genre. The song serves as a unifying anthem for country fans everywhere, redefining what the genre can sound like while creating an atmosphere where fans can be celebrated for unapologetically being themselves. The upbeat, rambunctious track also features tight harmonies, country and rock influences, and a driving chorus.
Neon Union shared the inspiration for the song, explaining, “We wanted our first track to be high energy and reflective of who we are as a duo. It’s about so much more than the difference in our skin color. ‘Bout Damn Time’ is about how we want to bring a new sound to the country music scene and bring fans together for a great time. Can’t wait for everyone to check it out!”
ABOUT NEON UNION
Comprised of newcomers Leo Brooks and Andrew Millsaps, Neon Union is a duo preparing to take country music by storm. Brooks grew up in Miami and has collaborated with artists like Pitbull, Lauryn Hill, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, Cee Lo Green and John Legend. Millsaps grew up in North Carolina and has been writing songs ever since the age of 13. And when Grammy-nominated country star Jimmie Allen heard the two perform separately, he became convinced that Brooks and Millsaps would make the perfect duo. Allen introduced the two, and the rest was history. Together as Neon Union, Brooks and Millsaps are bringing a new sound to country music, with 808 kick drums married to a traditional country lyric and anthemic pop melodies. Neon Union is managed by Allen and his business partner Aaron Benward as Jab Entertainment’s inaugural artist. To learn more, visit neonunionmusic.com.
